Rising Fashion Jewellery Brands

Esther Tai is a Hong Kong-born emerging jewellery designer. She first completed a Higher Diploma in Commercial Design, specialising in jewelry design and visual merchandising, at Hong Kong Baptist University. She pursued further studies at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Fashion (Retail and Marketing).

In 2023, Esther’s exceptional creation was honoured with the Best Design Award at the “JMA International Jewellery Design Competition”. She has also been a multiple recipient of the Hong Kong SAR Government Scholarship, consistently recognised for her creativity and professional excellence. Her designs seamlessly blend contemporary fashion with classic elements, aiming to craft distinctive high-end jewellery pieces.

From a young age, Esther practiced Chinese fine brush painting, excelling in intricate linear drawing. Influenced by her multicultural background and systematic design training, she developed a keen sensitivity to visual presentation and luxury aesthetics. Her work often draws inspiration from traditional natural motifs, transforming them into innovative expressions with a modern edge.

Kelly, a designer-maker with an MA in Jewellery and Objects from Birmingham City University’s School of Jewellery, founded her brand in 2022. Her work emphasises concepts and narratives beyond aesthetics, with a passion for interactive jewellery that invites wearers to curate, transform, and personalise pieces, fostering a deeper connection and individuality.

Tim Tim Lam, the founder and artistic director of AFFECTION, is a Hong Kong-based avant-garde jewellert atelier. Holding a Bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts from Hong Kong Baptist University, she combines conceptual and research-driven approaches with a strong theoretical foundation.

Lam has earned recognition in Hong Kong’s top industry competitions, including 2nd Runner-up in the 22nd and 23rd Hong Kong Jewellery Design Competitions and a Merit Award at the JMA International Jewellery Design Competition, highlighting her exceptional craftsmanship and creative vision.

Her innovative “Preservation Alchemy” transforms organic traces, such as pet fur, into enduring sculptural forms, blending empathetic design with sustainable material philosophy.

Lam’s work has been presented in critical exhibition contexts including the Goethe-Gallery at the Hong Kong Arts Centre, COLLECT Hong Kong, and thematic showcases like Loong Legacies, establishing her presence within both the contemporary art and design circuits. Through AFFECTION, Lam is defining a new vernacular for sentimental luxury, where jewellery acts as a tangible interface for memory, connection, and ecological mindfulness.
